Buried deep in ash, the once thriving capital of the island is now compared to a modern day Pompeii. Tours can be arranged through Police Headquarters . EC $150 - per group (may be out of bounds during volcanic activities)

The Montserrat National Trust

The trust operates out of the oriole complex, and here you can walk through the National History Centre, a small library, gardens and gift shop.
 
Carr's Bay Historical Site
 
You will find remnants of a fort,with several cannons pointing out at sea in the direction of Redonda. Here you will also see a model version of the War Memorial and Clock Tower that were destroyed in Plymouth.
 
 Runaway Ghaut
 
Montserrat ghauts are deep ravines that carry rainwater down from the mountains to the sea. Legend has it that people drinking the cool spring water flowing to the drinking fountain at Runaway Ghaut will be drawn to return to Montserrat again and again.
 
Montserrat Cultural Center

Built mainly from funds raised by Sir George Martin, this state of the art building contains a 700 seat auditorium and an outdoor seating patio overlooking the landscaped gardens.
